General Information
How to measure?
Measure the visible width of the glass first and then the height. We will adjust for the portion of the glass hidden within the frame.
What are muntin bars?
Muntin bars are the aluminum bars inside the insulated glass unit that, for decorative purposes, forms a colonial type pattern.
What is Low-E glass?
Low-E glass is treated with a clear metal finish that makes the glass more energy efficient and reduces the ultra violet rays of the sun from passing through.
What is tempered glass?
Tempered glass has been heat treated, which makes the glass stronger. Also, when this type of glass does break, it breaks into small pebble size pieces instead of sharp shards. This provides an additional safety feature.

Q & AQuestion: What is a thermopane window and how does it work in my favor?
Answer: A "thermopane" or double-paned window has two panes of glass separated by a trapped air space. The trapped air acts as an insulator, reducing heat or air conditioning loss through the glass. If the seal "goes bad" the window looses its efficiency leading to higher energy bills. It then starts to look wet, cloudy or opaque in-between the glass. |
Q & AQuestion: Why is there condensation or fog in-between my windows?
Answer: The window is cracked or the seal around the edge of the glass has broken letting the gas escape and the ambient air in. The trapped air condenses and forms moisture on the glass. Our insulating units that we install come with seals are guaranteed for 10 years after the date of initial repair. |
